During the shows we have noticed that spring/summer 08/09 promises to be full of flowing feminine pieces, drawing strong inspiration from the bohemian goddesses of the 1960s. Rework the look this season with a more glam take on the Boho look. Sexy playsuits, soft ruffles and embellished silks are all key looks for the season. Colour ways are dominated by royal purples, emerald green, hot pinks and steel greys.
Another nod to the bohemian era was announced this week as the NSW government unveiled its plan to bring back the double-decker buses that we last saw here in the 60’s and 70’s. The move is a positive one for the environment and the view will certainly be sweeter – but we’ll sure miss those signature ‘white-knuckle’ taxi rides that Sydney has been dishing out this week!
P.S. When in Darlinghurst, be sure to check out ‘a tavola’ restaurant. A boutique-style Italian restaurant where guests share a marble dining table, which also doubles as the prep bench for the chefs and wait staff. This restaurant is fabulous for fresh handmade pasta, Italian wine and intimate and attentive service - SP stumbled across this great little eatery after a busy day at the Festival and we were very impressed - visit http://www.atavola.com.au/ and make sure you check it out on your next trip to Sydney.
