After deciding on having a lazy Sunday by myself I headed to my favourite cafe for a delicious breakfast and an equally satisfying tall soy cappuccino. After spending a relaxing couple of hours enjoying my own company and scouring the Sunday Times I left and soon found myself in a popular local boutique where within 10 minutes I purchased a very flattering pair of Paige Denim wide leg jeans - I was one happy girl! I then had a moment and decided to go and see Sex and the City all by myself and I was glad I did - I laughed and cried during the whole movie and was very happy that no-one else was there to see me in this state.
This brings me to my reason for this blog entry ... The Weekend Australian recently reported on how sexy work gear can be detrimental to women's chances in the workplace and how through shows like Sex and the City women are inspired to dress in a more provocative and daring way. This they say is preventing women from getting jobs and from gaining opportunities to climb the corporate ladder.
Style Palace agrees and women should be smart enough to know what the dresscode in their workplace is and tailor their style accordingly, but on the other hand I also love the quote ...
"Dress for the job you want - not the job you have"
I think this is a great rule to follow but obviously you wouldn't want to be dressing as a pole dancer while working in an inner city law firm!
Back to the movie - it was fabulous and with over 300 gorgeous designer outfits adorning Carrie, Miranda, Charlotte and Samantha who wouldn't want to take on their style. I was mesmerised and very inspired to see the Sex and the City girls in action again as well as with the closing line in the movie ...
"Style is the only label that never fades"
