Let's start with letting you know that we are obsessed with checking out the gorgeous boots and shoes that everyone has been wearing during Fashion Week. We do have a question though ... we have seen hundreds (maybe thousands) of beautifully dressed people today and we didn't see even one person who was wearing the same pair of shoes as someone else! Are there really that many different styles of shoes available in Australia? And not just normal shoes - there were mainly boots of many variations ... wedges, stilettos, flat, over-the-knee, ankle, peep-toes, cut-outs, zipped, unzipped, cowboy and the list goes on and on and on. This was merely an observation - and a very enjoyable part of the day. We love boot watching!!
Our second day at Fashion Week got off to a slow start because it was our allocated retail therapy morning. We are working late every night so we thought we deserved a little sleep-in before heading to Oxford Street, Paddington. As much as we love shopping at stylepalace.com.au, we like to share the love with other favourite Australian labels including Sass and Bide, Shakuhachi, Kirrily Johnston, Willow, Ksubi and Camilla and Marc. Luckily all of their flagship stores were situated within walking distance to each other so we just shop-hopped to each one and damaged our credit cards along the way. No more needs to be explained!
Our first appointment for the day was with the gorgeous girls from Camilla who showed us the summer collection titled 'Babylon' at a secret location in Sydney's CBD. All we can say is that it brought one of the SP Princesses to tears (seriously) - it was an overwhelming experience which we will share with you when the collection arrives later in the year. It is truly exquisite.
A chocolate fix was required before we headed back to RAFW central in Circular Quay so we hunted down the Lindt Cafe for a hot chocolate (highly recommended). Back at the OPT we viewed the Women's Ready to Wear Collection including Gary Yang and Breathless. The Flannel show was held shortly after at the Cargo Theatre and we were excited to see this show as the designer is a fellow West Australian and the show didn't disappoint - it was a beautiful collection.
Our next stop was to view the collection of a new designer to Style Palace - Carly Paiker Jewellery - another West Aussie - we do breed great talent in the West! Look out for Carly's gorgeous leather wrap bracelets coming to SP very soon. We heart very much!
Our second day at RAFW ended at Fox Studios for the highly anticipated Ellery parade. We waited for over an hour to see the show. Both Princesses were standing the whole time in new Beau Coops boots and were such troopers. Jodie had aching little toes and Darlene was starving, but we all have to suffer for fashion! The wait and pain was worth every little bit ... the parade was sensational and the designs, amazing. There wasn't much that we didn't love at all including watching the stunning Jennifer Hawkins shining in the front row!
Back at the Westin we ordered a late night snack for 'brain food' so we can share our day with you. Our job is over for the day so good night and sweet dreams to you all from the
SP Princesses xx. Enjoy our pics and we will report back to you again tomorrow ...
