Rosemount Australian Fashion Week - Day Four

What a day! What a week!

Our week of fashion, fun and frolicking finishes here. The Princesses thoroughly enjoyed 2010 Rosemount Australian Fashion Week - it was well worth the trip for the Style Palace team. We viewed some great shows and collections and picked up some great new designers to bring to you in the future. We met some lovely fashionistas and were especially excited to meet a fellow online boutique owner, Sarah from Beginning Boutique. It can be very lonely in 'cyber space' so to meet someone who can share her online experience with us was great - Sarah, we look forward to keeping in touch with you.

Today was insane and we can't believe we got through it so smoothly. Each day this week has been super busy but today we really were 'super princesses' on a mission. We visited designers, attended shows, squeezed in a very small spot of shopping, caught up with a friend and went to see another friend singing at The Bucket Lounge in Bondi. Here is our schedule for the day to give you a taste of what we were up to - we won't give you a full run down otherwise this post will never end. We will keep this post short and share with you the great pics that we took today. Keep checking back over the next few weeks on a recap of exactly what new designers will be joining Style Palace in the future.

One thing we did realise during the week is that we didn't stop talking from the moment we got on the plane - how can two people talk so much? We're not sure ... but we certainly entertained all the taxi drivers in Sydney!

7.30am - Alarm goes off!
9.00-10.45am - Samantha Wills showing of new collection in Alexandria.
11.00am - Ae'lkemi Show at Circular Quay (we were late but so was the show!)
12.45-1.45pm - Shopping in the city.
2.00-2.45pm - Gorman showing of new collection in Surry Hills.
2.45-3.45pm - Shopping in Paddington including a quick lunch and coffee at the Bookstore Cafe (to die for!)
4.00-4.45pm - Kooey parade back at Circular Quay.
5.00-6.00pm - Ellery showing of new collection in Darlinghurst.
6.15-9.15pm - Dinner and shopping in the city with our special friend, Sandy.
9.45pm - Went to see another special friend, Vanessa Raspa, singing at The Bucket Lounge in Bondi Beach ... she's amazing ... check her out at http://www.vanessaraspa.com/

So it's a wrap from RAFW 2010 from Style Palace. We hope you enjoyed our week with us. We now have to fight with our suitcases - how do you fit two suitcases of stuff into one? We're not sure but we'll try - we even had to purchase extra kgs for overweight luggage!!

SP Princesses get up close and personal with Sir Richard Branson at his Pool Party ...

The Style Palace Princesses were very excited to be attending the Richard Branson Pool Party last Friday. Dripping in Samantha Wills and covered in beautiful Camilla designs, we certainly blended in with the beautiful Caribbean theme created poolside of the Burswood Entertainment Complex.

It was a fantastic night of Samba music, dancing, flame throwers and fireworks and of course a great outcome for the local charity, Strike A Chord for Cancer.

Loved having you in Perth, Richard. Be sure to visit us at the Palace soon!

A Little Birdy Told Us ...

Psst ... The SP Princesses have heard a little rumour that Australia's Samantha Wills Jewellery may be appearing in Sex and the City 2. The story is that the SATC stylist chose quite a few pieces from the Samantha Wills collection. We've been told it's not guaranteed that the jewellery will be used so let's wait and see if our much loved Aussie jewellery label misses the cutting room floor and makes an appearance in the movie sequel! We are trying to work out which pieces will go with which pair of Manolos! Stay tuned for more on this bit of goss ...

Rosemount Australian Fashion Week - Day 2

Day 2 began with Camilla and Marc’s feminine and intricately detailed collection which was shown in East Sydney’s Luxe Studios. Expect to see gathered ruffles, sharp tailoring and touches of lace which emphasize the light, modern feel of the collection. A stand-out collection so far!

Lisa Ho drew the celebs to the front row, with Lara Bingle, Jessica Rowe and Pia Miranda all turning out to view the Spring Summer collection. Strong features include shades of royal purple, soft ruffles, geometric prints and cheeky swimwear. Style Palace loved the back and white floral fusion print dresses – a print that is exclusive to the Lisa Ho label.

We are very happy to welcome accessories label Samantha Wills to the Palace, and look forward to her spring/summer collection ‘la Muse de Bohéme. Drawing inspiration from socialite Talitha Getty and the bohemian glamour of the 1960’s, expect to see statement turquoise and Green Jade pieces and SW’s signature oversized cuffs and dress rings.

Australian newcomers Bec & Bridge filled the Cargo Theatre for the showing of their ultra sexy spring summer collection. This fun and flirty collection featured boldly printed body suits, sexy lace leggings and summery dresses all carefully designed in beautiful fabrics. SP has done its Bec & Bridge shopping so get ready to look fabulous this spring/summer.

We are extremely excited to welcome Camilla Franks’ label Camilla who also joins Style Palace with her beautiful 08/09 collection titled Sirocco. This collection will take you on a journey from Northern Africa, to the glitzy beaches of Monaco and the Mediterranean seaside. Expect a stunning array of digitally printed silk crepe dresses and Camilla’s signature billowing silk kaftans in beautifully sequinned and beaded shades of turquoise, hot pink, burnt orange, canary and animal print. This label has become a favourite among celebrities the world over, worn by the likes of Delta Goodrem, Beyonce, Fergie and Tara Reid to name a few. Today was very busy rushing around to shows and appointments and we were totally exhausted by the end of the day. But of course it's all in the name of fashion and we are sure you won't be disappointed when you see the first Style Palace collection available online in September.
