Creative way to K.O. the Toad

Melbourne bag and accessories label Ceinture is set to take the Australian and international market by storm.

Sisters Kimberley and Stephanie Bunning launched their label in 2007 with the aim to provide quality bags and accessories that were stylish, functional and timeless.

Ceinture’s SS 08/09 collection boasts beautifully crafted pieces from premium quality cow hide; Himalayan sheep, emu and kangaroo skins and they have even found a beautiful use for the dreaded cane toad!

Stephanie says they chose cane toad leather because they wanted to utilise as many Australian products as possible.

The toad looks like snake or crocodile once it has been tanned up and makes for a striking point of difference from other accessories available on the market.

Style Palace brings you Ceinture’s collection – including the cane toad embellished belt – in September 2008.

Edgy Scents

Mecca Cosmetica has just launched the controversial new fragrance collection, titled Etat Libre D’Orange. Its meaning translates to ‘Free State of Orange’ which is the liberal state where its creator, Etienne De Swardt grew up.

The Libre D’Orange collection pushes conventional boundaries and appeals to the wearer who wants to stand out from the otherwise feminine and floral-based scents on the market. These perfumes are a raw and evocative interpretation of the elements they are named after. Look out for fragrances such as Jasmine & Cigarettes, Delicious Closet Queen, Real Blonde and the risqué scent, Magnificent Secretions....we’ll leave that one to the imagination.

Inspirational Quotes

I once read this quote in a magazine and it always stayed with me ...
"Look in the mirror and remove at least one piece of jewellery before leaving the house."

SP Loves Louis Vuitton Leather Cuff

At the moment SP has a love affair with cuffs. A favourite (and recent purchase!) is the Louis Vuitton Suhali Blanc Koala Bracelet in black goatskin with a gold buckle - a must for that rock chic look!

Rosemount Australian Fashion Week - Final Day 5

By Friday many of the RAFW fashion set were beginning to look a little bleary-eyed, but still turned out in force to view the Mad Cortes show. This collection showcased designer Mira Vukovic’s unique and fresh style which was a breath of fresh air to the Festival. Stand-outs were the intricately hand-beaded black mini dress with origami folded detailing and striking prints juxtaposed on feminine silk with bold hand-painted fabrics.

The afternoon’s focus turned to the New Generation parades where many up-and-coming designers showcased their first collections. We loved Will & Roth’s stunning butterfly-print silk dress, Miischa’s feminine ruffled dresses and feather and sequin embellished creations. Perth label Adam Wore Short Pants showcased a feminine street-ready collection while Michael Lo Sordo’s silver geometric print and ruffle creation closed the show on a slightly darker futuristic note. Congratulations to all the New Generation designers who showed at Fashion Week and best of luck for the year ahead!
